Tommy Bahama’s senior textile designer Kayoko grew up exposed to traditional Japanese artwork, architecture, block-printing, and ceramics at an early age. The Tokyo native went on to become a professional athlete, editorial photographer, and finally an artist. Her experiences and love for nature— lush plants, scenic views, and movement— are reflected in her masterful work. Like everything she designs, the watercolor hibiscus on this shirt is hand-painted in hues that are electric, tropical, and made with elegant brushstrokes.
